The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is a UK government organisation responsible for maintaining databases of drivers and vehicles in Great Britain and the United Kingdom respectively. The agency issues driving licenses, organises collection of vehicle excise duty (also known as road tax and road fund license) and sells personalised registrations.
DVLA was looking for a way to move away from paper-based meetings and make them more efficient for both on-site and remote meetings. DVLA undertook an evaluation of the digital meeting’s market to find a solution that scored highest in the categories of security, ease of use, multi device availability, being able to work on and offline and value for money. They undertook trials of the three shortlisted solutions and Convene came out at the top. They moved to implementation very quickly and have found the portal and the app so simple that they have not required any training yet.
As explained by Robert Foot, Corporate Secretary at the Chief Executive’s Office, “Convene has been working faultlessly even without any formal training on how to use the product”. He also mentioned that, “The fact every user has been able to use Convene without any training is testament to the quality of the product.”
