Convene at the biggest NHF Housing Governance Conference to date

17-Jun-2019 15:41:43

The NHF Housing governance conference rolled around, and after last year’s great experience of meeting old friends and with a new venue for this year, we very much looking forward to what lay ahead.

This year, the conference took place in Kings Place, a stunning multi-event venue situated in King’s Cross. An array of beautiful artworks from the Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize collection adorned the tall exhibition walls. Despite being below ground, the high ceilings and openness provided a pleasant ambient environment to meet over 350 company secretaries, housing governance professionals and their board members - the highest attendance yet!

Building on from last year’s theme of digitalisation for more efficient governance, this year’s key messages revolved around diversifying boards to have a greater representation of women, LGBT, and BAME communities on boards, as well as encouraging a younger demographic to be involved in governance. Other hotly debated topics included fast tracking improvements to governance by taking on a ‘can do and will do’ attitude rather than waiting for the outcomes from the publication of Green Papers.

The conference highlighted our popularity with governance professionals in the housing market. We met many of our satisfied customers who were more than happy to extol the virtues of Convene to colleagues in the hall. In fact, praise for Convene and our ongoing customer support was a big talking point at the Convene stand.

We are proud to be driving a move towards digital governance in this sector and have become the 'go to' solution. More than 50 housing associations up and down the UK have already made the switch to us including Anchor Hanover Group, Bolton at Home, Catalyst, Cartrefi Conwy, Coastline Housing, and Curo Group.
