Client Update: Bucks County Council implements Convene

Established in 1889, Buckinghamshire County Council (Bucks County Council) is the upper-tier local authority for the non-metropolitan county of Buckinghamshire, England.

Apart from being more commercially viable, an important objective of the Council’s future corporate programs and priorities was to become more digitalised. The vision of the One Council Board was to lead the change from the top and adopt paperless processes wherever possible. The Council was looking for a digital solution to manage their board meetings and came across Convene through online research and the G-cloud Digital Marketplace.

Before using Convene, the Council was storing documents in shared folders on the internal network in addition to physical files and folders. They agreed that if they were to change the traditional ways of doing things, they had to move to an enterprise-grade secure digital solution.

Since the solution was meant to be used for the One Council Board and hence the high levels of proprietary information that would go into these documents, an enhanced level of security was imperative. Convene’s award-winning security features and the ability to remotely wipe information on any device helped the Council choose the solution.

Bucks County Council started using Convene from January 2016 and since then they saved a substantial amount of time, cost, and paper. They especially appreciated the easy learning and implementation process of Convene along with its excellent client support and simple set-up process.
